You will be joining a fast paced durable goods manufacturer. The company is multi-national with over $4 billion in revenue. They are the leaders in their industry, hold the most market share, and drive product innovation for their category.
The Product Manager is responsible for the leadership and management of a product family. You will direct and coordinate all functional activites, and be accountable for Gross Margin, ROI and customer satisfaction. In this role you will develop multi-year product line plans, identifying target segments and setting the course of action.
The position requires a person who can embrace the technology, work with engineering and be comfortable working with complex products. The product family is technical in nature. Average unit costs are $15,000, and many of the systems are customized to the customers' environments.
The marketing team is hands on and action oriented. You will be working with a team of senior marketers. Each person is driven by their product family and their core metrics. The position requires a person that can work with a fair bit of autonomy, and take responsibility for growing their business.
The position requires a person that is comfortable with numbers and strategic analysis. The Product Management team is responsible for gross margin.
You will analyze product sales by region, identify strengths/weakness and work with sales management to achieve maximum product penetration. You should be comfortable digging into Cognos and the ERP to find the reports you need to make strategic decisions.
The position offers a salary of $107,000 + 15% bonus and other perks. There are excellent career paths for this role. The organization is multi-national, and believes in developing their own talent. They are plenty of career opportunities within the broader organization and its divisions.
Requirements:
-5+ Years of Senior Product Management experience
-Proven track record in durable goods or other complex programs sold to large buyers (government, hospitals, or tier 1 accounts).
-Experience working in one or two step distribution channels.
-Excellent oral and written communication skills.
-Strong leadership skills, and ability to lead non-direct reports to support your project plans
-Strong analytical skills and comfortable with financial reports and analysis of your product family.
-Must be able to work flexible hours.
-Travel the U.S. 30%.
-Accountable and able to work autonomously. You are held accountable for delivering the gross margin for your product family.
