Collega Aveda is currently seeking an experienced Web Developer to join our awesome team. This is an exciting position at an exciting time for our company. This position reports to the Director of Digital and Social Innovation and is a great opportunity for someone who wants to be part of a dynamic creative and marketing team.
Essential Functions:
-Plan, design and develop innovative tools and technologies for the web that help us represent all of our brands online in a creative, dynamic way that demonstrates leadership in our respective industries
-Assess and prioritize all tasks and manage client expectations effectively
-Manage all relevant scheduling and stay organized
-Troubleshoot scheduling conflicts and initiate changes when required
-Work seamlessly in both Mac and Windows environments, and effectively apply extensive knowledge of Agile development with specific experience with HTML, CSS, PHP, Javascript, XML, HTML5, jQuery, and responsive design for web and mobile
-Apply proficient knowledge of industry standard graphic applications including but not limited to Photoshop, Illustrator and ImageReady to create images and graphics elements for web projects
-Design web layout / navigation based on a solid foundation of UX design
-Utilize strong analytical skills to solve problems and create progressive solutions and be able to communicate those solutions in language and terms that make it easy for decision makers to understand and make effective decisions
-Maintain organized operational files as well as archive files in a way that mitigates exposure to risk due to human error and technical failure
-Work well with other departments and managers as required to maintain accurate information on projects
-Collaborate with creative, technical and marketing teams on various initiatives
-Have experience with CMS systems (WordPress, Drupal, Expression Engine, etc.)
-Possess good working knowledge of PHP frameworks like Codelgniter, Zend, or Symphony
-Have experience working with social network API's (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr, etc.)
Experience with Facebook application development
-Possess mobile website development, fluid design, responsive design, etc.
-Have experience with Ecommerce development
Requirements:
-Strong analytical skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines is essential for a fast-paced environment
-Experience within the Beauty / Fashion / Wellness industries is a definite asset
-Understanding of and experience in corporate branding, layout, colour theory UX design for both web and mobile environments
-Experience with Agile development practices
-Fast, effective UX methods that work
-Excellent organization and communication skills
-Self-motivated with a goal oriented focus
