Senior Associate - Expatriate Tax

This Human Resource Services (HRS) group is currently seeking an Expatriate Tax Senior Associate to join their downtown Toronto practice.
The HRS team works closely with clients to offer practical approaches to the increasingly intricate challenges that face companies and individuals today. Their professionals include actuaries, accountants, tax specialists, financial advisors, and human resource professionals with unmatched expertise in the human resource service arena - tax, benefits, retirement, stock option and financial planning, international assignment, equity, compensation, strategy, regulatory, compliance and process management.

What Can You Expect From a Career in HRS?
• You will build upon your foundation of knowledge in Canadian and U.S. personal income tax.
• You will have an opportunity to develop and refine skills in client relations, problem solving, as well as project and people management.
• Our extraordinary client diversity will allow you to work on a variety of client assignments, gaining experience in the completing and coordinating complex Canadian and U.S. personal income tax returns as well as playing key roles in HRS advisory projects.
• As a core component of your professional development, you will learn to identify and resolve a variety of complex expatriate tax / financial planning and human resource matters related to a global workforce.

Candidate Profile
• Graduate of relevant undergraduate degree in business, accounting or related field, and working towards or completed a professional accounting designation.
• 2-3 years of prior Expatriate or Canadian tax experience.
• You are a mature self-starter who thrives on challenge and possesses the intellectual curiosity and analytical capability to delve beyond the surface of a particular issue.
• You are comfortable working with numbers, and must be detail-oriented. Proficiency with computers is required.
• You are an effective communicator and enjoy working in a team environment. You have good organizational skills, a positive attitude, and an ability to work effectively under pressure. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
You are flexible in terms of work schedule, as overtime will be required at certain times of year.
