The Function
Lead delivery of Contracts & Procurement (C&P) activity for the well engineering function. Deliver solutions for the procurement of tangible materials, equipment and Wellsite services. Develop contracting strategies and implementation plans that are consistent with the strategic direction of Company and, in particular, the well engineering function.
You will be the lead on all well engineering procurement projects, working closely with the well engineering function, Drilling Engineers, Rig Supervisors and Drilling Manager to design strategies and implementation plans that are consistent with business requirements.
The Contracts Specialist is accountable for ensuring all tenders and contracts are processed in accordance with Company procedures, and negotiate contracts with vendors that minimize risk to the Company.
You will lead and co-ordinate cross-functional teams during vendor negotiations, with signing authority of CAD $5 million.
The Individual
At least ten years experience with five of those being in well engineering.
Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in an appropriate commercial discipline with exposure to the oil and gas upstream industry.
An MBA or similar would be an advantage together with a legal qualification.
Professional PMAC designation considered an asset.
Must possess a thorough knowledge of all specialty areas of tendering and contracting with specific reference to well engineering services and equipment.
A strong track record of negotiating contracts and agreements.
Extensive experience in financial analysis.
Must be able to demonstrate ability to build strong business relationships whilst maintaining the highest standards of honesty, ethics and integrity. |
