Systems & Network Support analyst
 

Duties:
Reporting to Senior Management and working with a team under minimal supervision, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

* Administration of LAN/WAN connected devices i.e. routers, switches, SAN, NAS, Server, PC/Laptop, printers and other varying devices
* Design, implementation and administration of Microsoft Exchange, SQL, Sharepoint, Biztalk, Virtual Server and like environments
* Design, implementation and administration of VMware server and desktop products
* Installation, generation, testing, and ensuring ongoing client availability of Intel based Windows 2000/2003/2008 and Presentation Server operating systems, sub-systems and related server and client software and hardware (Wyse, Dell, etc.) in LAN/WAN settings
* Ensure the proper operations of Servers and other facilities at local and remote locations while maintaining a high level of client performance, functionality and availability
* Supporting and Administration of a Microsoft Windows Server 2000/2003/2008 Active Directory environments
* Supporting and Administration of a Linux / Unix Server & client environments
* Supporting and Administration of a MAC Server & client environments
* Network & infrastructure and other hardware device implementation, trouble diagnosis, installation and support
* Software application implementation, trouble diagnosis, installation and support
* Involvement in varying projects


Qualifications:

Education:
A diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in the faculty of Computer Sciences/Systems Technology or related fields, or relevant experience.

- Experience:
Must have at least 5 years of directly related industry experience

- Knowledge:

* Must have good technical knowledge of server/client environments in multi disciplines (Windows, Linux/Unix & Mac) and multi-protocol (DHCP, TCP, DNS, POP, SMTP, IP, Telnet) environments
* Must be well versed in Microsoft Office suite
* Good understanding of the manufacturing environment is a definite asset

Note: An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered

* Effective communications skills to listen, write and speak in a clear and concise manner to individuals at various levels
* Presentation skills to deliver user training
* Effective interviewing skills to probe customers about their needs or concerns

* Problem solving skills to methodically and logically work through technical and non-technical problems, organizing information into defendable opinion and recommend solutions
* Negotiation skills to secure a win-win position for all parties
* Networking skills to develop and establish relationship with industry colleagues
