Our client is an Edmonton based industrial electrical contractor that is going to grow significantly in the next 3 to 5 years. To manage that growth they are looking for a
GENERAL MANAGER
Reporting to the Management Committee, the General Manager will be responsible for the overall management and success of the organization. Also, the qualified individual will be empowered to bring leading safety, management, business development, labour and construction practices to the position.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
* Building, Leading and developing a strong Management Team to manage a rapidly growing company
* Planning at both the operational and strategic level in order to grow the business
* Business development including contract negotiations
* Creating and controlling budgets
* Overall management of Project Teams / Projects in the range of $ 1M - $ 40M
* Owners representative in client meetings
Qualification of the right candidate:
* Minimum of 10 years of management experience in large complex electrical contract construction environments
* Proven ability to implement systems (e.g. finance, human resources) required to manage a fast growing company
* Demonstrated successful business development and management skills
* Strong understanding of mission critical electrical installations
* Ability to travel as required
