SENIOR PLANNING / SCHEDULING MANAGER
(Initially based out of Vancouver or Calgary)
The purpose of this role is to develop and maintain master schedules during the bid pursuit phase of projects in order to be successful. Furthermore, detailed work schedules need to be developed and maintained & support / management needs to be provided to other team members / subcontractors.
Upon award, the Senior Planning / Scheduling Manager will work closely with subcontractors to ensure accurate and timely reporting of work progress, earned value analysis and performance factor calculation.
It will be necessary to summarize monthly progress information by rolling up contractor data, assist with detailed commissioning / turnover schedules and aid in the development of preliminary schedules for other projects.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
* Plan & coordinate the schedule development process
* Support the development of the WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) to support project delivery
* Develop Project Milestone and Progress tracking baselines
* Support schedule risk analysis and schedule contingency determination
* Coordinate monthly schedule reporting, including schedule forecast updates and schedule contingency management
* Perform critical path analysis
* Ensuring that the established planning and scheduling methodology is followed in developing project schedules
* Building / Managing a team of highly qualified Planner / Schedulers
Qualification of the right candidate:
* Possess a relevant Engineering Degree or have equivalent journeyman trades experience
* Minimum of 10 years scheduling experience preferably in the heavy civil / industrial construction industry
* Experience in working on large projects with a value ranging from $ 200M - $ 1.5B
* Proven ability to develop and maintain Master Schedules as well as developing and maintaining detailed schedules
* Fair understanding of Estimating / Cost Control techniques
* Having the ability to work alone and as part of an integrated and dedicated group or Professionals
* Strong Computer skills including: Primavera, MS Projects, Excel and Word
* Strong interpersonal, analytical, communication and team building skills
