The Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) Fitness & Sports Program plays a prominent role in promoting fitness and good health within the military community. CAF physical fitness programs, standards and policies are designed to prepare and assess a CAF member’s ability to meet and surpass the physical rigors of CAF operations and inspire CAF members to improve their physical fitness and build their leadership and self-discipline skills.

The Sports Coordinator plans, organizes, and coordinates the operations and delivery of CFB Edmonton sports programs. He/She designs appropriate sports programs to reflect fitness-training requirements and assists in planning and conducting courses for coaches, officials, and leaders. He/She prepares schedules for leagues and tournaments. He/She also monitors, evaluates, and recommends improvements to CFB Edmonton and regional sports programs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Administration, Recreation or a related field
- College diploma or certificate in Sports Administration, Recreation Management or a related field AND some years experience in sports and recreation administration or a related field
- Current National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) certification in two sports
- Current CPR and Basic First Aid qualifications
