Under the direction of Community Recreation Association Director, the Aquatics Coordinator plans, coordinates and directs the delivery of the aquatics programs, which includes the implementation of lesson plans. He/she prepares and maintains annual budget. The incumbent hires and manages staff, conducts orientation sessions for new employees, prepares employee work schedules and sets responsibilities. He/she also develops and facilitates staff in-service training and upgrading and conducts staff re-certifications as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Recreation, or in a related field AND some years of experience in aquatics and recreation administration
OR
- College diploma or certificate in Physical Education, Recreation, or a related field, AND some years of experience in aquatics or in a related field
OR
- High school diploma AND several years experience in a related field
AND
- Current CPR and Standard First Aid Certification
- Current National Lifeguard Service Certificate (NLS) qualifications
- Current Lifesaving Society Instructor Certification
- Current Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certificate (WSI)
