Director, Integrated Projects
 

Our client has an opening for a Director, Integrated Projects. The position is a permanent full-time position based out of their Calgary office and will report to the Vice President, within the Projects Department.

In support of their maintenance and growth strategy, the Projects Department has a current opening for the position of Director, Integrated Projects who will be responsible for leadership and management of the Integrated Projects (IP) Group. The IP Group delivers on a portfolio of approximately 40M$ of sustaining capital maintenance projects and approximately 10M$ of Direct Assigned projects. The primary focus will be to set strategic direction for the IP Group and development of staff. As Director for the group, the successful candidate will also carry the accountability for management of the overall cost, quality, schedule and safety for overhead and underground electrical transmission maintenance and Direct Assign projects within the IP portfolio.

Responsibilities:
- Effectively lead project oriented group delivering maintenance projects ranging from $5,000 to over $5 million dollars to an aggregate value of approximately $40 million annually.
- The Direct Assign projects delivered in this group range from $50,000 to $2 million dollars to an aggregate value of $10 million annually.
- Report progress and manage priorities and resources.
- Develop delivery strategies utilizing both internal and external resources.
- Negotiation and management of key external supplier relationships.
- Report project status, finances and schedule status to senior management.
- Manage the company’s identity with clients and stakeholders affected by Transmission Projects.
- Manage and communicate with consultants and company project team members on project scope, objectives, accountabilities and commitments.
- Mentor and coach managers and staff.

Qualifications:
- Professional Electrical Engineer in good standing with APEGGA.
- 12+ years of engineering and proven project management experience in the electrical transmission field.
- Demonstrated leadership capacity and strong interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated critical and strategic thinking and action plans.
- Contract management and negotiation experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
- Ambition to develop as a leader of people.
- Strong team player.
- PMI certification is desirable.
- SAP familiarity would be an asset.
