Account Manager (Sales) - Food & Beverage Sanitation
 

Client Overview: Our client's expertise in is delivering sanitation and hygiene products and systems within the Food and Beverage marketplace. We are looking for an Account Manager in Vancouver to add to their growing sales team. Ideally, we are looking for someone with a sales background from the dairy, brewery, meat/poultry processing, or water treatment industries - only candidates with this experience plus a 4-year degree in Business, Marketing, Chemistry, Microbiology, Engineering or other related field will be considered for this role.

Position Overview
The position of Account Manager has the primary purpose of managing an assigned sales territory that includes a number of industrial food plants. Managing the territory involves leveraging a very broad set of technical and inter-personal skills, to partner with a broad range of employees at each account. This includes influencing the decisions made by senior managers, to building relationships with the cleaning and sanitation crew members. Consulting skills are critical to success in this role. An Account Manager is expected to help identify problems and recommend solutions to improve sanitation and operations related practices and procedures within customer locations. Routinely, they are often part of the implementation team as well. The goal is to drive sales under the umbrella of “Operational Excellence” by delivering quantifiable value and savings to our customers. This is accomplished by establishing strategic working relationships based on trust, integrity, and the ability to deliver a high level of quality expertise and service. Responsibilities Qualifications: highly self-motivated and able to work independently. Assigns decision making authority to the appropriate person.

Education and Experience: A 4-year degree in Business, Marketing, Chemistry, Microbiology, Engineering or other related field is required plus at least one year of experience in food and/or beverage processing, with an emphasis on Production, Quality Assurance, Sanitation, or Engineering related work. Equivalent industry specific experience may be substituted for education.

Travel Required: Ability to travel minimum of 60% of the time (includes overnight). Valid driver’s license is required and driver's abstract will be needed from the winning candidate. Ability to drive to multiple locations of varying distance within assigned region.
