Application Engineer II Job # 4169
SCOPE:
Designs and builds process control systems, using standard Foxboro hardware and software modules, to meet requirements of customer's application.
RESPONSIBILITIES
work is assigned only in terms of objectives, relative priority (project objectives) but informed guidance is available
technical responsibility of projects
assigns and outlines work to the engineer(s)
assigned on project (2-3 jr engineer or students)
integrity of application designs.
acquires technical expertise in a broad range of Foxboro products.
recommends solutions to problems encountered.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
leads technical meeting with the customer
leads regulatory control implementation project of simple complexity that requires 1 or 2 engineers for implementation including: I/A packaging, I/A architecture and software vs customer requirements and detailed application engineering
will estimate cost impact of engineering scope change
performs project commissioning (on site)
ensures that projects are performed according to ISO procedures
travels to sites to assist with sales, engineering, start ups and problems.
performs any other related duties deemed necessary by management.
SPECIFICATIONS:
Education:
Must have an engineering degree preferably chemical or electrical.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in distributed process control application engineering.
SPECIFIC SKILLS:
Technical
1.Must have had previous experience with personal computers.
2.Programming experience desirable.
3.For Chemical Engineers, training and/or experience with have systems or software engineering is desirable..
4.For Electrical or computer science engineers, training or experience with process operations is desirable.
5.Good organizational and communication skills.
Languages:
For certain locations and/or assignments, must be fluent in both written and spoken French and English.
