We are currently looking for Interprovincial Heavy Duty Mechanics (Heavy Duty Equipment Technicians) for mines in the Southeast Region of beautiful British Columbia. Surrounded by mountains, there are a mix of activities available for every interest. There are many summer and winter activities available such as fishing, hiking, skiing, and snowmobiling.
Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time
Salary: $31-33 per hour. Shifts are 4 on and 4 off, 2 days and 2 nights. Overtime is paid at double time.

Skill Requirements:
Education: Inter-provincial or Red Seal Heavy Duty Equipment Technician (Heavy Duty Mechanic, Heavy Duty Technician) Certificate.
Experience: 3 - 5 years
Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English

Diesel Engine Repair Specialization: Fuel injection systems, Exhaust systems, Cooling systems, Lubrication systems, Engine control systems, Major internal engine repairs or overhaul, Installation and alignment of engines and machinery
Mechanical Repair Specialization: Mechanical transmissions, Drive trains and final drives, Hydraulic transmissions, Power take-offs, Tracked vehicle suspensions and steering, Vehicle brake systems, Off-road vehicle tires and wheels
Powered Equipment Repair Specialization: Cable-operated working attachments, Hydraulic-operated working attachments, Winch, Compressors, Pumps
Specific Skills: Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions, Determine extent of repair required, Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, Test repaired equipment for proper performance, Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work, Service attachments and working tools
Additional Skills: Instruct apprentices, Order parts, Keep maintenance reports and documentation
Security and Safety: Driving record check (abstract), Drug test
Own Tools/Equipment: Tools, Steel-toed safety boots and Air tools
