We are currently looking for a Director of Engineering Services for an electrical utility company in the spectacular Yukon Territory. As Director of Engineering Services you will provide direction and leadership in managing engineering programs, policies, procedures and capital budgeting to meet the needs of the Corporation. You will perform at the Senior Management level as a member of the Management Committee in developing and directing corporate goals, financial and business plans, and strategies to ensure the effective planning and delivery of programs and services to achieve the corporate mandate.
Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time
Salary: $86,687 to $130,030 yearly, Full-Time, Permanent, plus northern allowances

Skill Requirements:
Education: Relevant engineering degree (in Canada), eligible for registration in Yukon
Experience: Minimum 8 years experience in the electrical utility or related industry, including proven experience at the managerial level or equivalent education and experience. Excellent management track record with specific accomplishments in directing budgets and strategic planning and to provide effective recommendations as a member of the executive team. High level of understanding of current engineering principles and trends in the electric utility industry. Knowledge of administrative and financial planning procedures to coordinate activities and to develop, implement and monitor program plans, capital and operating budgets.

Work Setting: Electrical Utility Company. Normal office conditions with frequent internal and external meetings. Travel approximately 15% of the time.
Specific Skills: Provide direction and leadership to technical services department staff in organizing and coordinating the development and delivery of central planning activities. Collaborate with engineering supervisors and program staff; coordinate the development and implementation of short and long term strategies, budgets, work plans, policies and procedures to ensure efficient and cost effective engineering programs. Manage and provide leadership in all human resource areas. Direct the planning and administration of department operating and capital budgets. Oversee the develop and monitoring of corporate engineering guidelines and standards for plant construction, operation and maintenance of generation, transmission and distribution systems to ensure consistent, cost effective and quality operations. Participate in the development, implementation and achievement of corporate goals, and occasionally make presentations before the Board of Directors. Keep apprised of new engineering methods. Ensure activities are performed in compliance with Health and Safety legislation. Demonstrate a proactive approach in identifying problems/opportunities for developing solutions and strategies
