The Sawridge Inn and Conference Centre (Peace River) is currently accepting applications for the role of Line Cook. Reporting to the Kitchen Manager, the Line Cook will ensure guest comfort and satisfaction by delivering unequalled standards of service and value while maintaining efficient and profitable Kitchen facilities.
The Line Cook will understand the true meaning of customer service excellence and possess a superior work ethic enabling him/her to be a positive and effective team leader. The successful candidate will possess some or all of the following characteristics:

•Extensive knowledge of food handling & sanitation standards
•Understanding of restaurant operational procedures
•Effective decision making skills
•Excellent communication and problem solving skills
•Self motivated, with a positive attitude and a consistent display of professionalism
•Innovative, detail orientated and quality conscious
•Ability to acquire and maintain relationships, both externally and internally
•Strong demonstration of creativity in all areas of food
•Superior work ethic
•Ability to exert physical effort in transporting equipment and wares

The Line Cook ensures and provides consistent food preparations and cooking with the highest caliber of food presentation while taking advantage of all opportunities to improve upon both. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

•Ensuring cleanliness and hygiene is maintained in the various kitchen areas including refrigerators and store rooms
•Strong effective and polite communication with all departments, specifically the restaurant & lounge
•Ensuring food products are properly rotated to provide the highest standard of freshness
•Taking an active role in the production and presentation of all food products
•Responding in a positive and timely manner to all internal and external guest requests and complaints while meeting the Sawridge Inn & Conference Centre’s standards to exceed guest expectations
•Following any and all recipes, with proper portions and measurements, as they apply to food products that are prepared
•Ensuring the kitchen is maintained at the highest level of cleanliness, at all time an especially during food preparation
•Maintaining impeccable uniform and appearance standards including clean, pressed uniform and attention to personal hygiene
