Design efficient databases often in conjunction with a systems analyst.
. Monitor and tune databases to ensure peak performance.
. Establish standards, controls, and procedures to ensure data integrity and security.
. Ensure end users have access to the appropriate data.
. Provide technical assistance to end users and other I/S staff to ensure efficient access to data.
. Gather and assist with the evaluation of information in the planning of system resources.
. Determine and provide assistance with the methods used to format, load or update data.
. Anticipate and make recommendations with regards to the changing data and database needs based on industry trends.
. Monitor tasks with respect to database performance on packaged applications. Escalate performance exceptions and work with the application support team to improve package performance.
. Communicate effectively with many customers having divergent needs.
. 3-4 years of DB2 developer and Admin experience a must.
. DB2 UDB Certification training (preferred but not required)
. Ability to work in a fast paced environment, providing tactical and strategic solutions with time sensitivity & criticality.
