3 Months Contract-to-Hire
Job Responsibilities/Requirements:
** Provide production level Oracle database support in an enterprise class server environment.
** Challenges include performance tuning, business continuity planning, database infrastructure enhancements, physical design, data warehousing, and
several >1tb databases.
** Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle databases and software on Solaris, HP-UX, and Linux.
** Interface with users and business units to resolve day-to-day issues, gather requirements for new projects and capacity plan for future growth.
** Perform in-depth technical troubleshooting and provide consultation to systems administration and development teams.
** Establish, implement, and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures using RMAN, VERITAS Netbackup BLI, and hot/cold backups.
** Monitor and tune database and SQL performance.
** Implement and maintain database security.
** Interface directly with Oracle and other vendors for technical support.
** Provide after hours pager/phone support for production systems.
