Job description:
The ETL developer will primarily be responsible for analysis, design, development and maintenance of ETL code to support business intelligence and reporting for large and complex Data Warehousing environments/projects.
Candidate will work under the Supervision of the Project Manager and Data Services Lead assigned for the project. Working closely with ETL architect and Database Administrator. The ETL Developer will perform the following
instructions:
* Determine appropriate translations between source data and target
databases
* Develop filter, transform and load requirements ** data integration
specifications
* Load/transform data from data sources into target databases
* Develop and execute data migration test plans
* Design and implement appropriate error handling procedures
* Capture metadata as it pertains to sources/targets
* Be fluent in the business concepts related to data models provided
* Understand and adhere to documentation standards, file design, and
storage requirements
Skills/Experience Required
* A min. of three years of experience with ETL design and development
with Informatica version 6.x or higher, and at least 1 year with version 7.x
* Strong SQL skills: solid understanding of SQL (sub-queries,
minus/union, inline queries etc.)
* Strong background in DB2UDB and other RDBMS like MS SQL Server 2000
along with stored procedure development experience
* Development of advanced mapping and transformations using Informatica
Designer
* Creating and managing sessions ** session partitioning
* Migration of mappings and transformations from one environment to
another.
* Strong background with Unix and AIX environments including scripting
experience ** shell scripts and Perl
* Prior ETL experience in data movement from and to IBM mainframe
systems is a plus
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience |
