Job description: For our financial services client in New York, we are seeking an experienced senior hands-on BI developer. This individual needs to have a diverse background in reporting technologies and the architecture/design/development/optimization of complex reporting implementations. The position also requires a breadth of experience working with application architects and database engineers to optimize application data access methods.
In addition, this candidate must be equally comfortable working with the backend Oracle database (needs strong PL/SQL skills) and working with users to customize report templates using Cognos.
Responsibilities:
****Perform hands-on development tasks in the creation of queries, reports, cubes and dashboards;
***Ability to assist senior database engineers to develop stored procedures;
***Ability to assist senior BI Engineers with administration and troubleshooting of reporting infrastructure;
***Ability to document reporting environments and processes.
Required Skills:
********2-4 years with Cognos ReportNet and Cognos Series 7 and 8. Knowledge of Cognos backend administration.
*******2-4 years experience with Oracle database development; current experience with Oracle 10g;
******Excellent SQL and PL/SQL coding skills, particularly experience with analytic functions;
*****Excellent communications, problem-solving and teamwork.
***College degree in Computer Science or related fields.
