Participate in the development of a world class website architecture and collaborate on the design of the overall network architecture.
- Ideal candidate should be comfortable with networking technologies, which include routers, switches, load balancing and the necessary troubleshooting that goes along with them.
- Implement and manage the production architecture per design.
- Collaborate with peers to design and develop advanced networking systems.
- Provide support for complex enterprise environments and assist with technical networking problems.
- Streamline and automate the management and reporting of network infrastructure devices and equipment.
- Act as an internal systems integrator.
- Work methodically to enhance the performance and reliability of the network infrastructure.
- Maintain infrastructure devices with recommended, stable software revisions and patches, including timely deployment of security fixes.
- Manage OSI layers 1-4, physical cabling, VLAN**s, WAN and routing protocols.
- Document and develop templates for laying down a network topology.
- Develop and maintain accurate and thorough documentation of the network architecture, its design criteria, performance metrics, etc.
Experience with UNIX (Sun Solaris, RedHat Linux) networking and troubleshooting is required.
- Excellent technology analysis, communication, organizational and project management skills.
- Experience working as an active member of a network team in an open systems environment.
- Ideal candidate must be self-motivated and able to self-direct to identify and prioritize projects.
- Atleast 4-7 years of experience in network engineering, preferably in a mixed vendor data center environment.
- Specific knowledge and experience with Cisco products (CCNA/P preferred); VLAN, TCP/IP, CAT5 wiring & crossover, Cisco VPN Concentrators & Point-to-point VPN, Pix Firewall, ASA 5500, 802.11 Wireless protocols & AP technologies, Cisco Secure ACS, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, IP Routing, ACL construction, CATOS, IOS.
- Load Balancers, ability to capture, read and diagnose IP dumps in a unix environment.
- Familiarity with VoIP, NetScreens, Cable testing and management skills.
- Ability to read and write simple Unix Perl, SQL and shell scripts.
- OID/Net-snmp experience, IDS experience.
