Senior Project Engineer (Civil/Municipal) - Saint John
Our client is a well established and growing company with offices throughout the Maritimes. They are a leader in the provision of a broad range of surveying, engineering, and planning services to a growing number of private and public sector clients.
We are currently seeking a Senior Project Engineer for a highly motivated and skilled team of professionals in their Saint John office. The successful candidate will have strong technical expertise and be responsible for drawing production on a wide range of engineering-related projects (as well as related field duties).
Key Responsibilities for the Role as Senior Project Engineer will include:
· Knowledge of design of municipal infrastructure, including water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, roads, water treatment, wastewater treatment, highways and roads;
· Managing the design of specific projects, including coordination of drafting personnel, guidance of technical staff, Client liaison, technical reviews, preparation of project specifications and solving complex engineering problems;
· Preparing technical reports;
· Communication with the Client;
· Managing contractor relations for projects through the tendering and construction phases;
· Assisting in defining and establishing performance targets for projects;
· Building and maintaining business relationships;
· Ability to work in various conditions on the road, at projects sites, and within the office.
As our successful candidate you have:
· A B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from a university recognized by the APENS;
· Eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer in the APENS/APEGNB;
· Solid experience in the design, operation, and/or construction of municipal infrastructure (water systems, wastewater systems & treatment, transportation & highway design);
· Experience or expertise in hydraulic modeling;
· Competence in the use of word processing, spreadsheet software and CAD;
· Ability to take initiative, have a strong desire to succeed;
· Proven ability to motivate, coach and mentor personnel towards success and towards achievement of established company goals;
· Solid skills to effectively apply project management tools, skills and knowledge;
· Problem solving skills - proven ability to effectively problem solve.
