Our client currently has a career opportunity for a Tax Senior in their Financial Services Asset Management Tax practice, which assists clients in the areas of investment and hedge funds, mutual funds and private equity. Using cutting-edge technology and working with team-oriented colleagues, the successful candidate will be responsible for securing and analyzing client tax data used in the preparation and/or review of tax compliance products, in addition to providing clients with tax guidance and planning. Our client works on key issues in domestic federal taxation, with a focus on implementing tax strategies that align with the client's business objectives.
Position Summary
The ideal candidate will have the combination of extensive tax knowledge and a sophisticated understanding of business drivers to serve clients.
Responsibilities
• Interface with clients and team members to secure tax data; collect/convert tax compliance data into an electronic format; formulate a plan to gather/communicate information to the client and complete accurate compliance products
• Prepare and maintain accurate, well organized work papers
• Perform quality review of product
• Research complex tax theory and positions, and apply them to specific client needs
• Exercise a high degree of independent judgment and discretion in providing tax services
• Identify and document tax technical and engagement issues and risks
• Demonstrate solid working knowledge of tax tools and technology
• Discuss engagement with internal and external sources to gain thorough knowledge of the client
• Prepare budgets, work plans and other planning documents;
• Develop an understanding of engagement economics to become aware of how decisions impact profitability
• Stay abreast of current business and economic development relevant to the clients' business
Qualifications
• A Bachelor's degree and approximately 2 years of related work experience, or a graduate degree and approximately 1-2 years of related work experience
• A CPA and/or LLM certification
• Excellent managerial, organizational and verbal/written communication skills
• A strong dedication to teamwork
• Integrity within a professional environment
