Duties/ Responsibilities:
• Oversees material receipt, claims initiation, warehousing, storing and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures for a Nuclear Power Plant construction project in China.
• Participates actively in loss prevention plan development and implementation.
• Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures.
• Maintains safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with OSHA and other legal regulations.
• Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts, reconciling with data storage system, resolving problems, completing audits.
• Oversees site materials and warehouse staff orientation and training.
• Supervise training and mentoring programs in materials management and warehouse operations.
• Provide reports, analysis and updates to project staff.
• Conducts daily materials management and warehouse staff meeting, including ongoing safety program, to review planned activities, issues and shares information.
• Participates in site management staff meetings and works with Client representatives as may be required.
• Evaluates performance of staff members.
• Ensure security, maintenance and repair of warehouse equipment and physical buildings.
• Maintain open communications with other departments, managers, and other project personnel.
• Oversees MARIAN Materials Management System input to ensure timely receipt and issuance of material receipts and OS&D Reports.
• Ensures accurate distribution of materials to contractors.
• Participates in contractor planning meetings to be fully aware of changes in installation plans and priorities.
• Assists in early identification of surplus or unneeded materials and coordinates material availability in support of revisions or rework.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
• Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent required.
• Typically this person will have 10 to 25 years of relevant experience in Materials Management within the power/construction industry in a leadership role.
• Must have a significant understanding of a field materials management organization and automated materials management systems.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
