Duties/ Responsibilities:
• Manages all aspects of a comprehensive International EH&S Program to include training, security, medical, field safety activities and Client Relations.
• Summarizes, maintains and publishes safety, environmental accident/incident records.
• Provides technical support to project safety managers/officers/supervisors.
• Coordinates and conducts project and office Health, Safety and Environmental audits and inspections in order to identify and assist in correcting unsafe and unhealthy work conditions or practices.
• Provides technical support and verifies compliance with company and client Health and Safety, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and other job-specified procedures or standards.
• Develops and implements process for supervisor safety training.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of loss control programs and implements corrective action.
• Plans and implements Health and Safety aspects of project-related work, including allocation of personnel and resources to adequately handle project and assist with regulatory compliance.
• Evaluates proposals for Health and Safety impact and technical approach.
• Experience working within Asia is a requirement.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
• Internationally recognized diploma with technical safety training minimum.
• Degree in safety related field preferred.
• Must have a minimum of 8 years of experience in heavy industrial construction safety.
• At least 5 years in an EPC safety managerial capacity.
• Must have experience in the assessment, selection and control of subcontractors.
• Must also have construction related environmental experience in asbestos, lead and handling hazardous waste.
• Industrial hygiene experience would also be beneficial.
• Must be able to be OSHA outreach training certified for Construction training or other recognized international programs.
• Must be a good communicator with knowledge of the cultural variances that are experienced within multi national workforces and experience of providing training as appropriate to the project.
