Responsibilities:
The assignments require the IT Internal Control Compliance Auditor to:
Assist with preparation and maintenance of IT internal control documentation.
Assist with maintenance and continued development of internal control software tool utilized throughout the organization.
Assist with overseeing IT internal control evaluations of effectiveness for the business.
Plan, coordinate and execute IT internal control compliance testing assignments:
o Perform Tests of Operating Effectiveness of IT internal controls (business application and general computer controls).
o Conducting Design Assessments on changed or newly added or implemented IT internal controls.
Report and communicate IT internal control compliance results to stakeholders.
Provide IT Management with remediation support as well as tracking and reporting on remediation activities being undertaken the business.
Liaise and educate departments across the business on IT internal controls and/or new regulatory requirements and provide guidance and continuous improvement recommendations on all control issues.
Research and comprehend new regulatory requirements.
Conduct special projects as required.
Qualifications:
The education, skills and experience that will assure your effectiveness as an IT Internal Control Compliance Auditor include:
B.Sc., B.Comm. or equivalent.
CISA certification or working towards the designation is a must.
Professional accounting designation or enrolment (CA, CMA, CGA, CPA, CIA) would be an asset.
2 - 5 years business experience in a financial reporting/accounting or systems development/project management role.
Strong working knowledge of the COSO internal control framework and the Cobit IT Governance framework.
Experience in any of the following areas is considered an asset:
o Platforms: Mainframe, Windows/NT servers, RS6000, AS400
o Operating systems: Windows, Unix/Linux, AIX
o Business applications: MRP/ERP, web applications
o RDBMS: Oracle, DB2, MS SQL
o Technical Services: IS security, Disaster Recovery and Planning, telecommunications and networking.
Strong organizational, analytical and project management skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and MS Project are required.
Finally the successful candidate must be eligible and willing to travel freely within North America (Minimum 25%).
