Position Overview
This is a team valued by business partners for delivering innovative
application solutions for their clients, focused on efficiency, agility and
quality. As a key member of the Solution Architecture Team, you will define
end-to-end Solutions Architectures as well as application-specific System
Architectures ranging from medium to high complexity business critical
projects. As out-lined by the Enterprise Architect's and Lead Architect
strategies, you will be accountable for implementing their long-term vision.

You will be required to assess the project scope and establish the Statement
of Work. You will lead and build the technical design of the application,
ensuring effective implementation of reusable assets within the design of
the application. Additional responsibilities include application planning
and implementation oversight, driving the execution of the application
development lifecycle with the appropriate technology standards, prototypes,
proof of concepts and feasibility studies in order to mitigate risks within
the context of the project and its architecture before development begins.
Other responsibilities include:
. Manage technical design risks and issues, communicate, and
coordinate the resolution of design issues with application subject matter
experts and Lead Architects
. Lead Design Reviews on macro designs.
. Ensure successful execution of the Enterprise Application
Architecture strategy and direction by working collaboratively with
stakeholders such as Lead Architects, Solution Architects, and Developers.
Use the appropriate governance framework whenever necessary.

Required Skills/ Knowledge:
. Strong Communication skills. Ability to clearly articulate complex
architectural issues to project teams and application teams in multiple IT
platforms and technology areas
. Ability to learn and absorb quickly new concepts (in business and in
systems), apply new knowledge as appropriate and transfer knowledge to
others.
. Project Leadership skills, specifically to: Develop distributed
system architectures and designs and in the management and resolution of
issues.
. A minimum of 10 -15 years in the IT field and at least 5 years
within a systems architecture focused role.
. Demonstrated experience as a solutions (i.e. Project-based)
Architect working with cross-tier (i.e. cross-enterprise) system
integrations.
. Ideally from a Financial Services organization or consulting
organization that does work in this 'space'.
. Demonstrated conceptual and analytical skills.
. Experience in developing systems within a team environment
. Demonstrated skills in influencing others and seeking resolution
. Adaptability
. Experience working with Object Oriented Technologies including J2EE,

UML, Object Modeling and Design Patterns.
. Familiarity with SDLC methodologies, specifically RUP, OOAD
Comfortable in working on Unix and Windows platforms, and ideally, the
mainframe world
. A self-starter who thrives in an environment of minimal supervision.

Preferred:- Experience with:
. Websphere, .Net
. Use of Application Development Frameworks like Struts
. Middleware technologies
. Rational tool suite
. Workflow and/or Business Process modeling tools
