Reception & Office Services Host(ess)
On behalf of our client; a highly respected Law Firm, we are currently seeking an ambitious, eager, motivated and experienced Receptionist/Hostess immediately.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Providing friendly and helpful customer service to clients and guests.
Preparing meeting rooms for meetings and special events.
Utilizing Resource Scheduler program, ensuring all catering requirements are identified and provided. Following up with meeting planners to clarify information, as required.
Communicating when back-up support is required to ensure appropriate department resources are allocated to meet required service levels.
Ensuring meeting rooms are cleared when meetings or functions are complete and all tables and catering supplies cleaned. Ensuring proper storage of unused food to minimize waste and maximize quality.
Managing inventory to ensure appropriate levels of food items (e.g. milk, juice) and catering supplies are maintained. Includes working with suppliers, and purchasing and disbursing of all supplies, including coffee, milk, and alcoholic beverages.
Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with external caterers to ensure high quality of food preparation/presentation and service.
Maintaining organization and cleanliness of floor kitchen. Includes:
Ensuring all supplies (i.e. linens, plates, cutlery, and glassware) are clean and presentable.
Ensuring proper food handling techniques and sanitation practices are used at all times.
Maintaining and cleaning staff lounge and floor kitchens. Ensuring dishwashers are loaded and run, and that an appropriate supply of dishes and utensils is maintained in each location.
Cleaning and maintaining coffee machines in staff lounge and floor kitchens.
Maintaining work areas, ensuring a high standard of cleanliness and safety.
Performing all job duties in a safe manner, respecting Firm safety policies and procedures.
Performing other duties as directed by supervisor (e.g. cover reception due to illness, vacation or lunch breaks).
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Required academic, professional certifications and business education. In addition to education, required work experience.
High school diploma.
Three to five years of experience in catering and/or hospitality servi

Required experience with computer or other technological equipment, including experience with specific software. Also, required knowledge/experience in specific practice areas or work processes/protocols.
Job Knowledge: Possesses and demonstrates working technical knowledge, skills and expertise appropriate to the role (hygiene guidelines in the food industry, food manipulation (meats, nuts, dairy, etc.), basic rules of etiquette).
Effective Use of Technology: Basic computer knowledge (Microsoft Outlook, Internet)
Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
Frequent heavy lifting (approx. 30 lbs) and bending required.
Ability to present a professional image of self and the firm.
Accreditation in hygiene and food safety.
Exceptional customer service orientation and capacity to anticipate guests needs.
