|Legal Assistant - Resource Team - 5 Positions Available|
LEGAL ASSISTANT - RESOURCE TEAM (5 POSITIONS AVAILABLE)
The Legal Assistant on the resource team performs clerical and office functions for Legal Assistants while they are out of the office and assists with the overflow of work on a day-to-day basis. We are seeking legal assistants with Litigation & Corporate experience to fill these positions.
Cover for Legal Assistants who are absent and ensure continued workflow for professionals
Transcribe legal documents from dictation device or hand-written notes using relevant software
Proofread transcribed documents to ensure accuracy
Search files and other sources for information as requested by professionals
Place and answer phone calls on behalf of professionals
Open and distribute daily mail for professionals
Coordinate professional's daily schedule as required
Perform other tasks such as filing, photocopying, emailing and faxing
Prepare follow up information for the Legal Assistant to ensure the continuation of work upon the Legal Assistant's return to work
Legal Assistant Diploma from a recognized post- secondary institution
3-5 years experience in a Legal Assistant role in all areas of law
Ability to learn quickly and readily absorb knowledge
Strong organizational skills
Excellent computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Outstanding customer service skills, including the ability to deal with clients in a professional manner
A high level of skill in verbal and written communication & Sound problem solving skills
