JOB TITLE: Tasked-Based IIT Consultant
JOB TYPE: Contract 12 months + possible extension(s)

RATE / COMPENSATION: Flexible based on experience



Our Client is completing a major initiative to modernize all of its legacy applications. As major part of this effort was the migration of most of its Business Finance Applications to platforms based on Oracle's Hyperion Planning suite of software. Three of these applications are moving out of project mode into the enhancement/support lifecycle of the modernization effort that will involve break fix, new releases as well as completing the deployment to the broader public sector of certain modules. They are looking for experts who can assist in transitioning these applications from project to support mode during a "transition year".


The successful candidate for this engagement will perform task based consulting services and provide Solution Design for the above identified applications following all applicable standards, industry best practices while meeting all client business requirements.


This assignment entails working with IT and business directors, managers, team leads, program analysts, financial officers, project team members, stakeholders and subject matter experts of their clients to understand the target environment, the required functionality and the data. The main focus for this consultant will be to provide support for the actual Hyperion Planning software as well as the business applications.



Deliverables:




•Carry out any necessary software installations or patch installations as required including working with the infrastructure resources, planning and managing regression testing. Software maintenance will need to be performed on a wide variety of platforms including MS Windows Server, Linux and Solaris.
•Performance tune applications and Planning software components as required tomeet end-user response time expectations.
•Provide software fixes and enhancements to all planning objects for applications noted above including reports, forms, business rules and outlines.
•Work with business analysts and end-users to identify and prioritize defect resolution and enhancements to the applications noted above.
•Enhanced and support a complex ETL environment based on ODI along with the associated supporting metadata including troubleshooting issues with batch processing.
•Maintain and enhance 2 custom APEX applications that maintain the metadata in 2 Planning applications.
•Participate in discussions with corporate security branch (CSB), centre of excellence for accessibility and Information Privacy and Archives (IPA) office to ensure proposed solution is in compliance with associated standards.
•Provide technical support for development teams across all three applications noted above.
•Participate in conducting feasibility analysis, project scoping and providing project work estimates to effectively manage change requests resulting from requirements elaboration phase.
•Participate in joint requirements planning and joint application design sessions to ensure that final solution is built as per client expectations.
•Use ministry mandated requirement tools and templates for documenting data architecture and information models.
•Provide innovative solutions to any identified limitations of the proposed technologies in meeting any of the business requirements or non-functional requirements related to security, privacy, accessibility, common look and fell and other applicable standards.
•Effective knowledge transfer to the business at all stages of this assignment.



Skills, Experience, Knowledge and Qualification:




•Demonstrated experience designing and building complex Hyperion Planning applications to support financial planning requirements.
•Demonstrated experience installing and configuring Oracle Hyperion Planning software across multiple software and hardware platforms.
•Advanced knowledge and demonstrated experience working with Oracle Data Integrator, Web Services , Weblogic and other similar middleware/gateway/web/application server technologies.
Experience performing all core Oracle Hyperion Planning administration and development functions including provisioning users in an OAM security environment.
•Able to work in a multi-project, multi-disciplinary enterprise environment seeking input and comment from other major initiatives.
•Experience developing system solutions using systems requirements for centralized financial planning and budgeting functions using tools/technologies specified under mandatory skills.
•Demonstrated knowledge of generic system capabilities of government funding modeling and financial administration business activities in either the education or post-secondary education sectors.
•Experience working with both the business users and IT development teams to ensure business requirements are properly reflected in the system design, technical specifications and final solution.
