Position Overview:
We are seeking a number of experienced business analysts for the Phase 0 component of our Wealth Core Platform Program. During this phase, requirements will be gathered in facilitated joint requirements sessions, in which business SMEs, application SMEs,
solution architects and business process analysts will all participate. All sessions will have a facilitator and a session scribe.
Job Description / Accountabilities:
- The key responsibility of this position is to gather, derive, document and obtain sign-off of requirements for the initial phase of WCP, through participation in the joint requirements sessions.
- Be responsible for the overall content, consistency and completeness of all documentation.
- Identify and escalate to program office any challenges to scope and placement of functions.
- Ensure session is completed within set timeframe, by managing the level of detail by collaborating with facilitator and project coordinator.
Specific Educational Requirements / Accreditations:
- Appropriate analysis experience (5+ years in systems analysis on medium-large projects, preferably in the financial industry)
- Accreditation as a Certified Business Analyst Professions by the IIBA is an asset
- College / University degree is an asset
Other Qualifications / Skills / Experience:
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to understand all artifacts and principles provided by the program
- Ability to identify and use appropriate analytical tools (e.g. use cases, data flow diagrams, process swimlane)
- Ability to identify appropriate use cases and level for their domains, and document use cases
- Ability to derive business requirements from analytical tools and artifacts provided by program
- Able to recognize challenges to scope, (know the difference between out of scope for the program, and an issue between domains), escalate with recommendation
- Able to recognize challenges in dependencies between domains (with help of Architecture), escalate with recommendation
- Able to apply program principles and decisions on placement of function in the target architecture to their individual domain (with the help of the solution architect)
- Sound knowledge of data principles (integrity, quality, data modeling)
- Understanding of the basics of business process design, presentation layer design, and workflow design in order to recognize where expertise in these areas is required
- Ability to work in teams and individually
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
