Job Overview:
This position is responsible for the systems analysis and software development/maintenance of a variety of Java based applications used by the client.
The application development will include the integration of open source, in-house developed and vendor software solutions.
The position is also responsible for the project management of software related project teams and/or working within project teams.
The project teams consist of staff members from various areas within the clients organization.
Requirements:
Must have completed a minimum of 4 year university degree, recognized in Canada, in Information Technology (i.e., Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering-Professional Engineer), or an equivalent degree)
Sophisticated, dynamic web application development and support using Java, J2EE, Struts, Spring, Hibernate. This includes the ability to design and build applications that integrate with databases from the ground up; familiarity with Java, JSP, CSS, XML, XSL and XSLT desirable.
Solid database experience with Oracle including stored procedures, triggers, etc.
Must have a minimum 5 years in the Information Technology field, with a primary focus in software development in a team environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
An excellent understanding of object oriented Java development in the J2EE environment (JDBC and RMI are required, Spring is a plus), and web services development (HTML, XML, HTTP, and SOAP are required; REST and PHP are a plus)
Strong project management skills. (PMI and PMP are a plus)
Strong experience with Linux and/or UNIX programming environments, including shell scripting and text manipulation (SH, BASH, Perl, Awk and Sed are a plus)
Good experience with securing web applications
Excellent skills using regular expressions
Experience with the integration of open source, in house developed and vendor software applications
Expert in using the Internet to research problems
Experience with JavaScript client side scripting
Intermediate skills in knowing about WWW browser capabilities, plug-ins and effects of program running on client machines
Good skills in working with document imaging
