Our client, a Bermuda based Investment Manager, is searching for a Chief Financial Officer to expand financial oversight and operations coverage for the company’s activities. This is a senior role that will suit a hard working market professional looking for the next challenge in their career. This is a newly created position for a motivated and dynamic individual as the company looks to build upon its reputation as a rapidly growing entrepreneurial hedge fund.
Your Responsibilities:
• Financial oversight of management company and investment products
• Full coverage for COO and operations activities already in place
• Risk Management of investment products
• Compliance relating to all entities
• Internal accounting information resource, including help with accounting questions raised by investment team
• Help with other legal and structural issues, including best practice advice and assistance launching any new products
Qualifications:
Applicants must have a minimum 7 years post qualification experience in a senior financial oversight role, preferably at a hedge fund, bank or financial institution.
The ideal candidate will have:
i) a recognized accounting designation (CA, ACA, CPA),
ii) experience preparing & coordinating with external legal counsel in relation to fund constitutional documents,
iii) strong understanding of financial risk management and oversight,
iv) in depth understanding of a variety of complex trading strategies
v) comprehensive knowledge of compliance issues relating to hedge funds,
vi) a high degree of proficiency in using Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks.
