I am a Senior Telecommunications Technician with extensive knowledge in the telecommunications and satellite communications industries for Digicel (Mossel) and Cable and Wireless. In my last assignment I was responsible for the operation and maintenance of Satellite Earth Station Hub in Jamaica for five years. I was responsible for providing technical support to seven other remote earth stations throughout the Caribbean. At the earth station in Jamaica, I performed all routine, corrective and preventive maintenance of Intelsat Standard A, and in the smaller islands, I provided technical expertise for standard B, D and F Earth Stations along with associated Ground Communication Equipment. I was responsible for the installation and testing of new circuit orders, keeping to CCITT and INTELSAT recommendations. At Cable & Wireless, I worked as an Earth Station technician at a Standard A earth station for two years and also as a Central Office Technician for eight years. As a central office technician, I was responsible for troubleshooting Digital and analog circuits related to Nortel DMS and NEAX local switches. As a central office technician I did daily preventative routine wiring and troubleshooting of outside plant modules (OPM) and OPACS. I was responsible verifying and adding customer data to both switches. I have extensive knowledge in troubleshooting faults on local switch main distribution frames and also limited knowledge in troubleshooting external line faults. Overall, I am proficient in using multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers, RF signal generators, Firebird and OMNIBER testers. I am very comfortable using most Microsoft products which includes MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and MS Project. I am cable of troubleshooting most faults down to transistor level using transistor testers and oscilloscope.
