| Electrical Engineer (PLC, ADC, DAC, FPGA) - Computer Programmer
| |
| Dear Sir/Madam:
I am a recent graduate of the Electrical Engineering program at Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario (B.Sc Elec Eng). I am submitting this cover letter and the attached resume in the interest of working with your Company under the capacity of an Electrical Engineer with considerable knowledge in PLCs, Circuit Design, electronic, and optical communications systems and software programming.
Among my pertinent employment experiences I have had the benefit of working with Imaje worldwide as a Programmer, Shop Technician, and a Sales Representative. Each of these positions developed my ability to pick up new skills because while I worked on a team, I was required to get up to speed with the technology being used on my own. Hard skills that I have picked up along the way include being able to repair various different types of machinery, and a set of a major programming languages that include C++, Java, Visual Basic. Soft skills that I have picked up include being able to engage a customer in constructive conversation with the aim of making a sale, and being able to work with and adapt to various business environments from around the world, in three different languages.
Most recently, I have spent eleven months developing a Soccer Robot team for my Undergraduate thesis. My role on this team was to develop a vision system capable of observing the location of robots on a field of play and relaying that information to the rest of the soccer system. Over the course of this project I assumed the role of team leader at meetings, engaging my peers when I felt that work was not being completed on schedule, and if we were losing sight of our goal. With due regards to the other members of this team, and the limited development time we placed 3rd in our division, which included world champion Universities such as Cornell and Carnegie Mellon, at the AmericanOpen RoboCup competition in Pittsburgh in May 2003.
To keep myself occupied I am currently managing an expanded version of this project for next | |
