I am currently looking for a job either in the legal profession, either as a clerk or as an assistant. My internship experiences at the Law Office of El-Farouk Khaki and CD and Associates are an asset. Mr. Khaki’s firm specializes in refugee claims and I have attended full IRB hearings. I have a deep understanding of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and am very familiar with all major IRB publications in the last 3 years. At the law firm, I was responsible for reviewing Personal Information Forms, Opinion Letters, avenues for appeal and other legal forms relating to the refugee admission process. Furthermore, I have been a volunteer with numerous settlement agencies since 2001 where I provided immigrant settlement and adaptation services to newcomer immigrants and refugees. I have personally been responsible for coordinating and organizing numerous functions, workshops, fundraisers, counseling and outreach for recently arrived immigrants. I am fluent in Pashto, Farsi and fairly fluent in German, Hindi and Urdu.
