I am an officer of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service- (SLAS). I currently serve as an Assistant Secretary at the Ministry of Rural Industries and Self-employment Promotion, Sri Lanka I am coordinating for development activates of the ministry and at the same time Project coordinator for Commonwealth Technical Assistance: Capacity Building for the Development of small rural industry of Sri Lanka specially, working towards to development of SME sector. I am working with an ILO as ministerial project coordinator of the ILO Community-based Training for Economic Empowerment (CB-TREE)-Sri Lanka project. Also I have underwent a special training Programme for ‘CAREER GUIDANCE CONUNSELORS under the Youth Employment Project (ILO/Japan), Sri Lanka. I managed a tsunami relief camp at Pitiwella - Sri Jayawardanaramaya - Sri Lanka, as a special project. That was an integral part of my Masters’ Degree Programme and that was monitored by the emergency Disaster Management Unit at Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM). This unit was declared as an integral part of the MPA Programme as a national emergency measure and I submitted a report on ‘Development of Managerial Skills in Camp Management’ as a part of my Masters’ degree Programme Further, I have followed several international training programmes on related topics including Cross-cultural Management, Community Development, Rural Development, Quality Management in the Public Sector for Good Governance etc. I have several years of hands in experience in the fields of Foreign Relations and Public Administration as an Assistant secretary of Foreign Relations at the Ministries of Cultural Affairs and National Heritage and as a Samurdhi Manager at the Sri Lanka Samurdhi (Rural Development) Authority. I have sound knowledge in Report writing and conducting presentations.
