My name is Hassana Sulley. I would like to be considered for a full time position as an adult ESL teacher. I am a recent graduate from York University with a BA in Fine Arts/Music and a certificate in TESOL. My high level of diligence and commitment for success has helped me to achieve a strong standing in the field of teaching ESL. I have the proven ability to teach both adults and children. I have accomplished a 2 year TESOL program within 1 year. The 250 hours of Practicum and Methodology courses in TESOL have provided me with an extensive experience in teaching the four language skills and applying theories in Communicative Language Teaching. I have excellent abilities in designing and implementing lesson plans for all levels. In my linguistics courses I have developed research skills and written papers involving in depth research and analysis. I have a deep compassion for immigrants and refugees and I am very sensitive to their needs. I have taught adults in a LINC (Language Instructions for Newcomers to Canada) center for 50 hours and I am currently tutoring English to an immigrant here in Canada. In all my experiences I have been commended for my hard work and highly skilled areas in classroom management, critical thinking, evaluation/assessment, organization, problem solving and effective communication. I stand as a guide for culture within and outside the classroom. I am a competent teacher with a dynamic personality. I desire to contribute to the greater good of the organization and pursue professional development. In addition, my language proficiency in English, Twi, Ewe and Ga has greatly expanded my knowledge of different cultures and languages.
