I have 25 years experience as an accountant and I possess a solid grasp of accounting principles. As an Accountant for public accounting firms, I learned the mechanics of how financial statements are prepared. This training was before the advent of computers. As an Intermediate Accountant for a manufacturing company, I processed, managed and administered $14 million in vendor invoices and employee expense reports for three international multi-currency companies. I was responsible for bank reconciliations, the calculation of prepaid expenses, calculating depreciation for capital assets and reconciling inter-company accounts. During the past four years I have been involved primarily with sales and income tax compliance. As a Tax Analyst, I was responsible for registering a service company for retail sales tax in the United States and Canada and administrating the filing of all retail sales tax. I prepared the year-end tax files for its companies for the US and Canada. I set up a fixed asset sub-ledger in order to track assets and to facilitate the calculation of depreciation using the accounting software. I prepared bank reconciliations and I was responsible for recording the departmental payroll entries for these companies. I prepared corporate tax working papers for a publicly traded company and its subsidiaries. Tax working papers for the end of the year require a reconciliation of salaries, fixed assets, rent, and sales to the general ledger accounts by state for United States entities and the preparation of financial statements for affiliated companies. I have been concentrating mostly on tax areas for the past few years and I would like to be able to return to financial statement preparation for which I was originally trained. This position could allow me to return to my roots.
