I am a retired French second language teacher who has taught all grades from K-12. I believe I possess skills in organization, innovative teaching styles, inclusive and engaging teaching strategies and pedagogy. I have developed project and resource based teaching units and worked on various committees at school, provincial and National level. Much of my carrer has been spent in teacher training (having been involved ni the development of the Intensive French Program being used throughout the country. I have facilitated courses for teachers at the board level and also at Memorial University (MUN) and University of Montreal at Quebec (UQAM). I also have experience in playing piano and choir direction. I have directed choirs of all ages as well as produced multi-aged musical theater. My direction of choirs has been for all school ages, church choirs and adult community choirs. I believe my enthusiasm and high energy level enables me to motivate and encourage my colleagues. My personality tends to be very social and easy going in a group situation and I can usually manage to make people feel comfortable in a group setting fairly easily. I have many years of experience in facilitating working groups of all types from staff units to volunteers. My communication skills have been rated as excellent. My presentations, sprinkled with a sense of humor, are clear, concise and practical. I am able to type at a slightly higher than average speed and am comfortable with word processing. I think my writing skills are well developed. (Several of my published pieces can be found by a Google search of my name. I believe many years of working have helped me develop good interpersonal skills. They have as well forced me to become very goal oriented, organized and focussed. Much of my professional and volunteer work has involved events planning, organizing and marketing. I feel I work well with media and am comfortable promoting projects and various events.
