    The Pacific National Exhibition is an iconic institution in BC, famous for bringing generations of people together to celebrate and build memories.     We are seeking an experienced supervisor that has good communication and time-management skills to join our team. Our ideal candidate is a team player that can present a professional and respectful work ethic. The Playland Catering Supervisor of the Food & Beverage Department will work under the direction of the Assistant Manager, Catering and will maintain high standards of food quality and presentation, while ensuring work is performed in compliance with FOODSAFE guidelines and all other applicable legislation and company policies.

    What will you do this year?

    In your role as a Playland Catering Supervisor, your primary accountabilities will be to:

    Supervise the work activities of up to 25 event staff; organize and allocate work, maintain time sheets and provide guidance.
    Handle any problems that arise with Playland BBQ Guests.
    Ensure a high level of guest experience
    Coordinate employee break times.
    Conduct inventory counts in designated areas & handle inventory count sheets.
    Ensure compliance with local health & safety guidelines & codes.
    Control food waste and loss
    Maintains a clean and sanitary work station
    Maintenance of all coolers & freezers  including labeling, dating, and rotating all products
    Ensure PNE Uniform and Appearance policy is adhered to at all times.
    Performs other related duties as required
    What else?

    Good knowledge of food and beverage operations, food hygiene and quality standards.
    Experience working in the food and beverage industry at a supervisory level
    Working knowledge of the PNE operations, programs and leadership skills.
    Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment
    Excellent customer service
    Ability to function independently under pressure while meeting multiple service demands.
    FOODSAFE Level 1 Certified
    Must be able to work various rotating shifts –days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
    Post-Secondary education related to this position is considered an asset
