This 108 year old, non-profit organization has an annual operating budget of $54 million dollars and generates revenue through three activity streams: the 15 day annual summer Fair which averages 750,000 guests each year, Playland amusement park which welcomes 375,000 guests annually including Fright Nights, year-round events including concerts, trade shows, film and cultural and community events.     We are currently looking for an individual to join our Gaming Team. The Assistant Manager, On-site Lotteries will play a key role in overseeing the operations of the PNE Prize Home Onsite Lottery.

    What will you do this year?
    In your role as an Assistant Manager, Onsite Lotteries, your primary accountabilities will be to:
    Oversee the operational procedures for the PNE Prize Home Onsite Lottery; includes oversite of management and training of vendor and clerical staff, adherence to Lottery rules and regulations, ticket inventory management
    Assist in the display, maintenance and placement of prize vehicles and vendor booths across the PNE site.
    Ensure staff compliance during the Fair-time period by ensuring that each vendor till is balanced daily and that all tickets are accounted for.
    Ensure that daily payroll timesheets are completed and management reports are completed accurately and efficiently, as required.
    Assist in the hiring, training, scheduling and supervision of On Site Lottery vendors and clerks.
    Assist in the completion of the necessary paperwork for new employees, uniforms, IDs.
    Participate in all PNE Prize Home Lottery draws
    Support Gaming department and lottery operations with other related projects, duties and initiatives as required.

    What else?
    Successful completion of grade 12 required.
    Must have a minimum of two years of supervisory experience; with the proven ability to effectively manage staff.
    Must be 19 years or older and be able to register with the Gaming Policy & Enforcement Branch (this involves a criminal record check ).
    Must have a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License.
    Must have strong administrative capabilities including strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
    Previous experience working in Sales, in a supervisory capacity is considered an asset.
    Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively and professionally communicate with various internal and external stakeholders.
    Must be energetic, outgoing, self-motivated, and have the ability to work with minimal supervision.
    Must have the ability to prioritize tasks with competing deadlines in stressful situations and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
    Able to perform all work related duties to assist with set up of Fair equipment and displays.
    Ability and willingness to work on an event based work schedule which requires extended hours (weekends and late nights) during the August Fair-time period. (Aug 18-Sep 10).
    Candidates must undergo a Criminal Record Check.
