  • Description

    Job Duties:
    • Inspect and check work orders prior to mixing paint and painting.
    • Prepare vehicle body surfaces by masking and priming.
    • Use hand and power tools to file, grind, and sand surfaces to prepare for painting.
    • Mix and spray coatings using various spray methods.
    • Apply all primers, sealers and basecoats with correct mixes/blends as per paint manufacturer specifications.
    • Ensure that all equipment, materials, and areas of operation conform to health and safety regulations and requirements.
    • Keep customers informed of the work process being carried out.

    In addition to the above main duties, you will work collaboratively with other technicians but under their supervision on the following functions:

    • Repair and replace body parts and components.
    • Deal with dents and other defects using state of the art equipment.
    • Repair and replacement interior parts and components.
    • Repair and replace glass components.

    Wages: $22.50/hour
    Work Hours: 40 to 44 hours per week
    Terms of Employment: Full-Time, Permanent


    Languages: English

    Education: No degree, certificate or diploma

    Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years

    Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots

    Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation

    Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding, Attention to detail, Standing for extended periods, Bending, crouching, kneeling

    Work Location Information: In shop, Relocation costs not covered by employer

    Additional Skills: Professionalism in customer service, Clean and maintain work space

    Area of Work Experience: Interior components, Body components, Paint spraying

    Specific Skills: Replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components, File, grind and sand body surfaces to be repaired, Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting, Hammer out dents, buckles and defects using blocks and hammers, Apply primers and repaint surfaces, Repair or replace interior components, Repair or replace damaged windows, windshields and sunroofs, Mix paint, blend and match colors
