    Part-time – Event-based
    Peak Period (April- September) 3-4 Shifts per week
    Off Season(October – March) 3-4 Shifts per month
    Wage: $14.00/hr + 10% in Lieu of Benefits & Vacation

    The Pacific National Exhibition is an iconic institution in BC, famous for bringing generations of people together to celebrate and build memories. This 108 year old, non-profit organization has an annual operating budget of $48 million dollars and generates revenue through four activity streams: the 15 day annual summer Fair which averages 800,000 guests each year, Playland amusement park which welcomes 375,000 guests annually including Fright Nights, year-round events including concerts, trade shows and film, cultural and community events. The fourth activity stream is park care and facility maintenance. The PNE is proud of the work it does at Hastings Park and has a vibrant team that is passionate about events, guest experience and being the best we can be.

    We are looking to expand our Employee Services team which operates under the Human Resource department. Our Employee Services Assistants will issue uniforms, photo IDs and nametags and ensure that all uniform items are returned accurately and efficiently. This is a part-time, event based position with varying hours throughout the year. Our ideal candidate is friendly, outgoing, has at least one year of experience in a customer service role, and has at least three days/per week of availability from April-September.

    What will you DO this year?

    • Issue uniforms, photo identification and nametags to PNE employees in accordance with the Human Resources uniform policies and procedures.
    • Accurately track all uniforms that are issued and returned by PNE employees.
    • Receive payment for unreturned, lost or misplaced uniform items, photo ID’s or nametags in accordance with Human Resource policy and procedures.
    • Ensure that the employee service office is kept organized; ensure uniform items are laundered, folded and neatly organized.
    • Aid in conducting yearly inventory counts.
    • Aid in updating ES policies and procedures as required.
    • Communicate PNE Uniform Policies and Procedures to staff & managers.
    • Provide uncompromised guest service to PNE employees.
    • Follow up with uniform or ES inquiries, via email or phone calls from both Managers and employees in a polite and inefficient manner.
    • Aid the Human Resources team in conducting group interviews for Playland and the Fair.
    • Perform other duties as required.


    What else?

    • At least 1 year of customer service experience, retail experience is an asset.
    • Ability to work independently and make decisions with little to no lead time.
    • Ability to multi-task efficiently while ensuring a high level of accuracy.
    • Strong working knowledge of computers including programs such as Google docs and Microsoft Office Suite applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
    • Previous cash handling experience and experience with debit/credit systems is an asset.
    • Applicants must be available at least three days a week from April- September with flexible availability during the slow season (October -March).
    • Candidates must undergo a Criminal Record Check.
