    The Housekeeping Captain will report to the Foreman I, II, III and/or Manager of Tech Services.

    Please Note: This position will be part-time event based. Shifts range from 4-8 hour shifts. Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including afternoon, evening, graveyard and weekend shifts.

    What will you do this year?
    In your role as a Housekeeping Captain your primary accountabilities will be to:

    •Supervise and plan the work of the Housekeeping crew during events or post events (concerts, tradeshows, etc.)
    •Organize time cards to determine appropriate work order charges and assist with timesheets as needed
    •Clean, sweep and mop areas related to the post clean of events
    •Empty diversion stations, garbage containers, and recycling
    •Wipe down diversion stations and other surfaces as needed
    •Communicate with Foreman I/II/ III and Manager, Tech Services on work performed during event clean-up or during post event cleans and any unfinished work or issues that arise
    •Maintain effective relationships with superiors, subordinates and the public
    •Perform other related duties as assigned

    What else?
    •2 years of janitorial and housekeeping experience is required
    •Building Service Worker certificate preferred
    •Must have 1 year of experience leading a team, and assigning/delegating tasks
    •Must have knowledge of the hazards and proper safety precautions for the clean-up of events
    •Updated WHMIS certificate required
    •Ability to work at heights, lift heavy materials up to WCB restrictions, and be physically able to work in awkward positions
    •Sufficient physical strength, stamina and coordination to permit the performance of assigned tasks
    •Must be capable of reading, writing and speaking English for the purposes of written or oral instructions, timesheets and documentation of work
    •Successful completion of Grade 12 is preferred
    •Knowledge of computer applications is preferred
    •Must possess excellent communication and time management skills
    •Must be able to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and grave yard shifts
    •Candidates must undergo a Criminal Record Check.
