    The Pacific National Exhibition is an iconic institution in BC, famous for bringing generations of people together to celebrate and build memories. This109 year old, non-profit organization has an annual operating budget of $48 million dollars and generates revenue through four activity streams:  the 15 day annual summer Fair which averages 800,000 guests each year, Playland amusement park which welcomes 375,000 guests annually including Fright Nights, year-round events including concerts, trade shows and film, cultural and community events.  The fourth activity stream is park care and facility maintenance.  The PNE is proud of the work it does at Hastings Park and has a vibrant team that is passionate about events, guest experience and being the best we can be.

    As part of the Sales & Marketing Team the Manager, Facility Sales is responsible for developing and implementing an aggressive sales strategy. Strong emphasis will be placed on using a variety of sales abilities to develop a strong sales pipeline and securing new accounts, while developing and maintaining current business.

    What will you do this year?

    In conjunction with the Director, Facility Sales, the duties for this position include but are not limited to:

    Assist with the development and implementation of a strategic sales plan to maximize facility sales revenue
    Identify and acquire new business while developing and maintaining current accounts
    Gain an understanding of the PNE’s objectives and facility offerings
    Liaise with clients from event booking through to event-day and provide support and direction to internal PNE departments for each event
    Identify opportunities to upsell during initial contract negotiations, with a focus on contract renewals post-event
    Develop a strong sales pipeline through lead development, prospecting, sales calls and presentations
    Research appropriate markets, new trends and develop market analyses within the event and sport industries
    Assist with preparing proposals, contracts and quotes
    Utilizes standardized business processes, policies, guidelines, and tools to manage client account relationships
    What else?

    Must have 3 years of experience in the events industry
    Must have at least 3 years of progressive sales and account management experience 
    Diploma, Certificate or degree in a relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of education & experience
    Must have experience with cold calls, prospecting and discovery
    Experience with event booking and calendar systems such as Ungerbock
    Experience in the trade & consumer, family entertainment, music or sports industry is considered an asset
    Ability to understand and represent another company’s brand at the PNE while balancing PNE objectives is a must
    Experience in managing budgets and preparing event financial analyses
    Strong knowledge of the local events market and local facilities is preferred
    Strong written & verbal skills with very strong attention to detail
    Successful candidates must undergo a Criminal Record Check
