    The Pacific National Exhibition is an iconic institution in BC, famous for bringing generations of people together to celebrate and build memories. This 108 year old, non-profit organization has an annual operating budget of $48 million dollars and generates revenue through four activity streams: the 15 day annual summer Fair which averages 800,000 guests each year, Playland amusement park which welcomes 375,000 guests annually including Fright Nights, year-round events including concerts, trade shows and film, cultural and community events. The fourth activity stream is park care and facility maintenance. The PNE is proud of the work it does at Hastings Park and has a vibrant team that is passionate about events, guest experience and being the best we can be.
    The PNE’s Marketing Department oversees the company’s branding, advertising, promotions, media plans, market research, partnerships, ticketing and site-look initiatives. We are looking for a motivated individual to join our PNE Marketing Team and take initiative to manage a variety of marketing projects at the PNE, including the Playland, the Fair at the PNE, PNE Prize Home Lottery, Fright Nights and TicketLeader brands.     What will you do this year?
    In your role as a Marketing Assistant, your primary accountabilities will be to:
    • Write copy for and manage updates for the PNE websites.
    • Develop the content for, and execute, e-marketing strategies. Manage email database, analyze campaign and contest results and develop acquisition campaigns.
    • Assist in the development of social media content, monitor social media activity, and write posts for PNE blog.
    • Assist in the development and distribution of marketing collateral (brochures, maps, posters & flyers) for Fair, Playland, Fright Nights, Group Sales, Agriculture, Prize Home Lottery, HR and all other corporate collateral materials.
    • Assist with the development, execution and analysis of the on-site consumer research programs for Fair, Prize Home Lottery, Playland and Fright Nights.
    • Assist in the production of site-wide signage.
    • Assist with on-site photography shoots.
    • Traffic all radio and TV spots for Fair and Prize Home Lottery campaigns.
    • Be open and available to undertake operational activities like helping to move media partners or sponsors on/off the site or troubleshoot event operations
    • Undertake a variety of Marketing projects and duties as assigned.

    What else?
    • Must be currently enrolled in or have graduated from a post-secondary program in Business or other relevant discipline.
    • Educational background specialized in Marketing preferred.
    • Some training in the field of Marketing an asset.
    • Eye for design an asset and writing skills required.
    • Strong multitasking and time management skills; ability to thrive under pressure.
    • Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
    • Creativity and energy.
    • Working knowledge of WordPress and Hootsuite required.
    • Strong attention to detail and high standards for excellence.
    • Some evening and weekend work may be required.
    • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
    • Candidates must undergo a Criminal Record Check
