    The Pacific National Exhibition is an iconic institution in BC, famous for bringing generations of people together to celebrate and build memories. This 108 year old, non-profit organization has an annual operating budget of $54 million dollars and generates revenue through three activity streams: the 15 day annual summer Fair which averages 750,000 guests each year, Playland amusement park which welcomes 375,000 guests annually including Fright Nights, year-round events including concerts, trade shows and film, cultural and community events.     We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual that has a passion for the events industry and the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE). The Operations Coordinator, Public Safety & Parking will work under the direction of the Director, Public Safety and provide direct administrative and operational support to the Public Safety and Operations team.

    What will you do this year?
    Provide general administrative support to the Public Safety department including maintenance of records and filing systems.
    Assist with interpreting, implementing and maintaining policies, rules and guidelines pertaining to the Public Safety Department.
    Assist with the hiring and onboarding of Seasonal and Fairtime positions for Public Safety and Parking.
    Create event schedules for the Public Safety and Parking departments.
    Distribute work schedules through Shiftboard, the PNE’s online scheduling tool.
    Assist with time approval duties on an as needed basis.
    Liaise with the Sales department to coordinate parking lot rentals.
    Coordinate and track security license (BST and AST) requirements.
    Assist in the coordination of departmental training.
    Undertakes a variety of research projects as directed by the Operations management team.
    Undertakes a variety of duties during the annual Fair at the PNE including coordinating assigned events, projects and continued administrative support to the Director, Public Safety & Parking.
    Perform other related duties as required.

    What else?
    Must have two (2) years of previous administrative experience and excellent knowledge of computer applications.
    Must be willing to work a varied schedule that will at times include evenings and weekends.
    Ability to foster effective working relationships with peers, subordinates, and external contacts.
    Ability to function independently and under pressure, and manage a variety of diverse projects at the same time.
    Exceptional planning, organizational, communication and administrative skills.
    Must be comfortable operating in a fast-paced work environment.
    Successful candidates must undergo a Criminal Record Check.
